Baños de Agua Santa commonly called Baños is quite well-known in the tourism world. Nestled in the northern foothills of the Tungurahua volcano, the city is 5,971ft above sea level. A number of hydrothermal springs abound the area which is why the city’s name in English means “baths of sacred water”. There is no airport in Baños de Agua Santa so you have to take the bus to the city. It is 170 kilometers from Quito, the capital city of Ecuador.

Do not miss the thrilling "Swing at the End of the World" in La Casa Del Arbol where you sit on a rickety wooden plank and swing out of a steep hill. The city is also known for its thermal baths and three waterfalls, namely: Pailon de diablo, Manto de la novia, and Cascada de La Virgen.
